de Quervain Syndrome

12:46 AM

So, as I scrolled down the Facebook newsfeed, I came across this! It reminds me of what happened when I was 17 years old. I had this health condition, de Quervain Syndrome. Of course it was not a real big deal, but it did cause me lots of trouble when it happened during few weeks before SPM examination and right after SPM Trial’s examination.

I could not move my right wrist, that was the worst case because I could not even write, practically I was unable of doing anything. Suffered for 2 weeks until I decided I had to see my orthopedic specialist in Tawakal Hospital since non of the painkillers nor inflammatory gel works on me.

Doctor said, normally for such case, it is open for surgery. Hahaha. Of course I could not afford surgery at that time, in sense that I would have SPM examination in next 2 months, sort of. He came out with other solution which he’d try to give an injection first. Well, okay. Let see. Thank god! It worked, somehow. I did not have to go for the surgery, yay! It took me 2 weeks until I recover, in total of almost one month of couldn’t do anything at school. That was critical time though especially with the extra and revision classes. It was really damn painful kind of period. It was so tense but I survived.

So after I found this article I did a little bit of reading to refresh back, and I read up about the causes and treatment, which is from here. The cause is still remains unknown with most people who’re diagnosed with this are women.

Now suddenly, my wrist started to feel the pain as if the pain coming back. Nah, just kidding :p
